I cover the WJEC, AQA and EdExcel specifications, using a mixture of past papers, TES resources and my own 'English Toolbox' worksheets.
I have developed the English Toolbox in direct reponse to student needs and to complement the specifications.
I can provide revision exercises and focused support with exam technique.
I have a small lending library of age-appropriate books that I lend to students to encourage their reading.
GCSE English Literature
I can help with any set text or extract, including: Of Mice and Men, Macbeth, Blood Brothers, Heroes, A Christmas Carol, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies and more.
I have master quote banks for all texts I work with, York Notes and CGP revision books, and film adaptations on DVD to lend to students.
Poetry analysis is often a challenging area for students. That's why it's something I love to help with. You can even have a go at writing your own - it's more fun than you think!

As a parent of a nursery-age child, I understand how crucial early years learning is. Sometimes mainstream education can't cater for every child's complex individual needs. It's vital that they get the support and attention they need.
I use a lively combination of visually interesting worksheets, Usborne "My First Reading Library" books and engaging conversation. I take a caring and enthusiastic approach, aiming to inspire children with my love of reading and pictures!
Education should be a life-long endeavour. I have huge respect for those who opt to continue their learning alongside the demands of work, life and family.

ESOL Learners
Living in a tri-lingual household, languages are a constant source of fascination for me. That's why I decided to undertake a TESOL certification, to help students who are coming at English from this perspective.
It's a specific way of learning that is quite different to native speakers, which is precisely what makes it so interesting from a tutor perspective.
Anyone who can speak, write and understand more than one language has a superpower, in my opinion! Competency in English is an extremely useful skill in the modern world; let me help you achieve this goal.
